A New Chapter in the Journey

If you’ve spent some time on Golden Har Girl, you’ll know that this space has always been about sharing life as it unfolds—honestly, imperfectly, and with heart.

Over the years, this platform has held many parts of my story: navigating life with a rare medical condition, learning to live confidently in a visible body, and finding joy, purpose, and meaning along the way. The Sports Series is simply another angle of that journey—one that has quietly shaped me for far longer than I’ve ever written about.

Sport has been a constant thread in my life. Not as an escape, but as a place where I’ve felt grounded and capable. A place where I’ve built friendships, tested my limits, and learned to trust my body again after surgeries, setbacks, and moments of doubt.

Living with a rare facial deformity can sometimes make you feel seen before you’re understood. Sport has a way of changing that. When you step onto a court or a lane, the focus shifts naturally—away from appearance and towards movement, teamwork, and effort. It becomes about showing up, trying, and belonging.

Through this Sports Series, I’ll be sharing personal reflections from the sporting spaces that have shaped me—tennis, tenpin bowling, padel, and beyond. These aren’t stories about performance or perfection. They’re about confidence built slowly, community found unexpectedly, and the quiet ways sport can support healing, resilience, and self-belief.

This is just another chapter—one that has always been there, now finally being told.
